Summary of Position:

• Under the general and direct supervisor of the Transportation Director.
• Provides transportation and aide to the members of the Adult Day Care Program.
   

Responsibilities:

• Provide transportation of clients to and from the center and provides escort service as needed to ensure client safety.
• Provide personal care and assistance to clients.
• Ensure that all appropriate safety measures are carried out while transporting members.
• Report behavior changes or unusual incidents involving members to appropriate professional staff and consult with other program staff as necessary.
• Assist with other areas of care as asked and required.
• Cleanliness of vehicles. Insure that all vehicle interiors are cleaned before picking up members.
• Complete daily Vehicle inspection/safety checklist.
• Attend staff meetings as scheduled.
• Make a commitment to cooperative performance to attain care, organization and programmatic objectives which may entail performing duties not included in this job description.
   

Qualifications:

• High School graduate or equivalent, in order to have mature reasoning ability required.
• Must have superficial knowledge of the reasons for member care as provided.
• Must possess a basic proficiency in English, spelling and math.
• Must be able to pay attention to details.
• Must possess a valid commercial driver’s license, valid DOT Physical exam card, and a safe driving record.
• Must have verification card of current instruction in CPR.
• This could be an entry-level job. However some experience in a similar situation would be helpful.
