| Position: Hairstylist Summary of Position:
- Under the general and direct supervision of the
Administrator.
- Provide grooming services, upon their request, to
members of the Center.
Responsibilities:
- Provide grooming services (washing, cutting,
blow-drying, setting, styling, etc.) to members of the
Center.
- Maintain an appointment book in the Reception area for
members; maintain “Reminder tickets” to distribute to
members subsequent to scheduling their appointments.
- Maintain magazines, stylist books, photos, etc. in the
salon for members to peruse. Offer style suggestions and
options based on a dignified and age-appropriate model.
- Maintain a relationship with a local beauty products
supplier. Adhere to a budget as defined by Administration.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation. Ensure that
supplies/tools are sanitized properly, and material items
(towels, capes, etc.) are laundered and stored in an
expedient manner.
- Inform the Administrator of any observable scalp
abnormalities, (open sores, lesions, etc.) beyond basic
conditions of the skin (i.e. dry skin or dandruff).
- Promote Salon Services during slow periods or down time,
as well as perform other direct care duties at the
discretion of the Administrator.
- Maintain a posted copy of current license in the salon.
- Attend staff meetings as required.
- Make a commitment to cooperative performance to attain
care, organization and programmatic objectives which may
entail performing duties not included in this job
description.
Qualifications:
- A current state-certified beautician’s license, and two
years of experience with direct customer contact.
- The ability to communicate and write proficiently.
- Bi- or tri- lingual
