Director of Quality Assurance Summary of Position:
- Under the general and direct supervision of the CEO and
the President.
- Provides for the establishment, implementation, and
monitoring of the Quality assurance program as per the
Standards for Licensure.
Responsibilities:
- Plans for and organizes resources necessary to ensure
quality and safe delivery of services.
- Quality assurance programs and activities are developed,
implemented, and evaluated per Corporate policies and
procedures.
- Quality assurance reports are completed in a timely
manner.
- Assists in ensuring that Corporate Quality Assurance
Committee meeting agendas are developed prior to committee
meetings.
- Quality assurance activities reflect current, identified
quality care problems.
- Information regarding quality assurance activities is
given to staff in a timely manner.
- Provides direction/support in developing quality
assurance activities.
- Attends all Quality assurance meetings as scheduled in
each center.
- Provide monitoring in each department at each center
with deficiency reports to Administrators and the President.
- Conducts semiannual reviews of all facilities per state
licensure standards.
- Internal and External Communication/Collaboration.
- Participation in assigned meetings is demonstrated and
documented.
- Communication of information regarding changes in
policies and procedures to staff in a timely manner is
demonstrated.
- Participation in appropriate committee meetings is
demonstrated per policies and procedures.
- Cooperation and collaboration with staff members: the
Administrator, Director of Nursing, Medical Director,
Quality Assurance Committee; and Governing Body pursuant to
the 2nd Home philosophy, standards, and objectives are
demonstrated.
- Documentation of information regarding quality assurance
programs and activities is demonstrated.
- Quality Assurance administrative files are maintained
according to policies and procedures.
- Consultation with the staff, Administrator, or Director
of Nursing initiated as issues and concerns require.
- Cooperation with federal, state, and local regulatory
agencies is demonstrated.
- Complies with Corporate policies and procedures.
- Job performance of the Regional Director of Quality
Assurance is demonstrated to be in compliance with Corporate
policies and procedures.
- Participation in developing administrative and clinical
policies and procedures is demonstrated as appropriate.
- Need for changes in 2nd Home administrative and clinical
policies and procedures are communicated to the CEO and the
President of 2nd Home.
- Participation in developing systems for evaluating 2nd
Home’s delivery of services is demonstrated.
- Promotes and maintains a company environment that is in
compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory
agencies.
- Keeps abreast of current and potential federal, state,
and local rules and regulations impacting the company.
- Consultation with staff members regarding federal,
state, and local rules and regulations is demonstrated.
- Participation in patient complaint system is
demonstrated.
- Compliance of staff members with infection control and
safety policies and procedures is monitored.
- Participation in meeting requirements for regulatory
surveys of agency is demonstrated.
- Is present at all center state inspections.
- Promotes quality assurance education for the staff
members.
- Participation in development and implementation of
quality assurance educational programs.
- Assessments of additional quality assurance education
needs are on going and demonstrated.
- Participation in quality assurance educational programs.
- Conducting of quality assurance educational programs for
staff members as appropriate is demonstrated.
- Provide a method of testing educational programs.
- Participates in research and studies related to Adult
Medical Day Care and quality assurance.
Qualifications:
- Must have a baccalaureate degree from a college or
university approved by the state department of education and
least four (4) years Quality Assurance experience in a
licensed healthcare facility.
- Must be able to write proficiently in English.
- Must be able to pay attention to details, work
independently and make decisions
